Teknowledge Corporation is in the intelligent systems and software business. Teknowledge's services solutions involve processing application knowledge, and conducting flexible and secure transactions over the Internet. Knowledge processing enables organizations to codify their knowledge, represent it in machine readable forms, serve it to end users on the Internet via agents and forms, and provide value-added application services to businesses and end-users. Teknowledge's projects utilize knowledge processing to provide customers with state-of the-art software solutions that put knowledge to work.
Teknowledge has had an active commercial product and services business since the 1980s. Its products have included:
- S.1 expert system shell, rule-based programming for knowledge engineers
- M.1 expert system shell for PC users
- Copernicus, successor to S.1 for enterprise applications
- Enterprise/Dx, diagnosis-specific shell
- ProductTrac requirements management tool
- M.4, M.1 updated as an ActiveX control
- Delta, a manufacturing execution system
- TekPortal eFinance middleware for financial institutions
There were active M.1/M.4 users 15 years after M.1 was first introduced.
Teknowledge has always maintained a contract R&D group, complementary to the commercial activity. Teknowledge has served as the prime contractor in large DARPA and other research contracts, and has served as a high-contribution subcontractor.
Teknowledge was incorporated on July 8, 1981 under the laws of the State of Delaware. The Company's principal executive and technical operations offices are located at 2225 East Bayshore Road, Palo Alto, California 94303.
